What does the treatment involve?

Step 1: Consultation

We begin your composite bonding treatment with a short consultation in our practice. We explain the treatment process and assess your teeth to make sure you are a suitable candidate. We also ask about your ideal results and give you the chance to ask any questions.

Step 2: Preparation

We dry your tooth and use a special acidic gel to prepare it for treatment. The gel creates a rough surface, which enables the composite to properly bond and form a stable repair.

Step 3: Bonding

We select the perfect shade of composite material for you, whether a colour-match to your natural teeth or a whiter shade for a brighter smile. We apply it directly to your tooth in layers, gradually and carefully building up the ideal shape.

Step 4: Polishing

We harden the composite material on your tooth using a UV light. It sets immediately, so you can eat and speak normally as soon as you leave the practice. To finish, we give your teeth a professional polish, so they look and feel smooth, shiny and natural.
