Oral Surgery

Yes. We provide a dedicated NHS oral surgery service for patients referred by their general dental practitioner. If you have been told you need specialist surgical care, your dentist can refer you to our team in Coventry for assessment and treatment under the NHS.

Your consultation is a chance to find out more about the procedure and ask us any questions you have. We carefully assess your mouth, and may use digital X-rays to get a more detailed view of your teeth or jaw. We explain your treatment options in full and create your bespoke treatment plan.

We prioritise your comfort, and use local anaesthetic to numb the affected area before we begin treatment. We also make sure you are feeling relaxed and ready to begin. If you are feeling particularly nervous, or are having a more complex procedure, we offer dental sedation to help you feel completely at ease.

Recovery times vary depending on the complexity of the treatment. For a simple extraction, most patients feel back to normal within a few days. For wisdom tooth removal or implants, it may take a week or two for the area to heal fully. We will provide you with comprehensive aftercare instructions and are always happy to help should you have any questions during your recovery.

If you have your procedure under local anaesthetic only, you will usually be fine to drive yourself home. However, if you choose to have sedation, you must have a responsible adult accompany you to the practice, take you home, and stay with you for the remainder of the day.
